Yes, March may be a bit early for tulips in Halifax, but when I see them in the house, they bring a sense of fresh "airiness" that brings on a spring mood; one that makes me want to clean and prepare for crisp sunny days. You know, the days when you can hang your clothes on the line and drape the stale winter laidened area rug over the banister outdoor deck. Truth be know I just want an excuse to bring that fresh clean spring air smell into the house. It really lift the spirits! Even though in truth, I known that we could and will likely have more winter. But somehow tulips loll me into a dreamy state, and if only for a few days, what's the harm? A little spring cleaning never hurts, even if it is a bit early. This is probably one of the reasons I am awarded the title "Pollyanna", always looking for the positive! Really, no reason is necessary for purchasing tulips in early March, but when they are available in the stores I love knowing what it means; Spring is on the way!!

I have to admit it's one of my favourites when it comes to anti aging serums. I have found the Dermal Excel 7 to be very effective. I have two bottles left in stock and once these are gone I will not be bring more in. The reason for this is the product comes from the US and this means a hefty exchange rate, plus import duties. It just ends up making the product too costly. If you would like to nab one of these products before they are gone for good let me know and I will put aside for you.

Recipe for the month

Bird's Nest Cookies

Ingredients
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup unsweetened coconut
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
mini eggs
Directions
- Line two baking sheets with wax paper and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, milk and butter and heat over medium heat, stirring with a rubber spatula. Once the mixture starts to boil, continue to cook, stirring, for two minutes. Remove from the heat and add the oats, coconut, cocoa powder and vanilla. Stir until it is well combined.
- Drop the oatmeal mixture onto the prepared baking sheets by the tablespoonful. Press 3 mini eggs into the middle of each cookie and let them set at room temperature.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
