October 30, 2018

When was the last time you did something silly, or spontaneous just for the fun of it? As Adults we tend to get really wrapped up in day to day responsibilities and forget how to play. The photo you see here is from an early morning weekday of me letting my cat, Cookie, out to get some fresh air, I saw that tons of leaves had fallen from the tree over hanging above the deck and my immediate thought was; as a kid I would put my rubber boots on right away and kick those leaves around. Then I thought why not? So, still in my house coat I pulled on my rubber boots and did just that. I have to tell you something shifted in me and in a good way! My normal morning cares of how I would get everything done in the day, just floated away. I felt light and airy, like a kid.  When I came back in I felt refreshed and ready to tackle the demands of the day, and somehow they just didn't seem as daunting as normal. When we take the time to play and just let go it can reduce our stresses in a significant way.  Play helps us to realize that some of the task that we feel overwhelmed by are really bigger in our minds than they are in reality. Play helps us to distant ourselves from being in a constant state of overwhelm and busy, bringing us back to the truth of what is really important in life and for me that is balance. I think of it like this: if you are on a teeter-totter and the opposite end has a big heavy  medicine ball on it you are left on the other end up in the air.  If you can gently let some of the air out of that medicine ball you will gently come back down to earth without crashing to the ground.
So I encourage you to make time for play and fun. otherwise you just may end up getting launched into a place that you really don't want to be.

Please note I will be away playing in New York from Nov.1-4. I will return calls and message when I return.

(can also use plain liquid stevia and just increase vanilla extract by 1/2 tsp)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Stir together all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix well.

Adjust if needed- If too dry add a splash of orange juice or a drizzle of avocado oil. If too wet add a sprinkle more of coconut flour. Sweeten to taste.

Make balls with a small cookie scoop. With your hands roll them into balls.

Roll the balls into the unsweetened coconut flakes. Freeze or chill for about 10 minutes to firm up.  Enjoy.
