July 2011

Finally Summer has arrived! Beach days, barbeques and just lazing around with a good book. Ideally! This can be a tricky time of year for your skin. With the constant use of sunscreens and the heat of the sun, your skin is more likely to become oily and prone to breakouts. This is the time to be diligent about cleansing and maintaining good skin care practices. Also be sure to cleanse you
make-up brushes.

Facial Special:

For those who want to maintain healthy skin care, but are concerned about being exposed to the sun the HydraFacial is the way to go. HydraFacial is gentle on the outer layers of the skin, stimulating the deeper tissues to bring oxygen to the surface of the skin resulting in more refined and youthful skin. Keep reading to see what this client had to say about her HydraFacial treatment.

"Wanted to tell you that the hydrafacial you did last time was the best...it brought out a nice peachy colour in my face and best of all, reduced the puffiness under my eyes which lasted for about three weeks. Also, my pores were very minimized...I loved it!"

I have recently had clients asking about small bumps under the skin on their face. Almost rash like. This is common with the use of commercial sunscreens, the skin is most likely reacting to the chemicals in the sunscreen that give you protection. One way around this is to use Jane Iredale Minerals, they are natural full spectrum sun blocks and are actually good for your skin. As with any sunscreen they should be reapplied every two hours.
